Are you passionate about environmental chemistry or mass spectrometry and can you contribute to the development of the project Path4med or the project FERTIPAS? The Department of Environmental Science at Aarhus University is looking for two student assistants.

Expected start date and duration of employment

The position regarding the project Path4med is from 1 March 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position regarding the project FERTIPAS is from 1 May 2025.

Both positions are fixed term positions for 18 months.

Job description

The project Path4med :

  • You will be contributing to the organization of samples, metadata, labelling an exchange of sampling devices with project partners, as well as ensuring some of the basic provisions of one of our environmental chemistry labs.
  • These activities will be carried in close collaboration with our postdoc working in the project.

The project FERTIPAS :

  • You will be contributing to the organization of the project datasets, digitalization of field data, supporting mass spectrometry data analysis and curation
  • These activities will be carried in close collaboration with our postdoc working in the project.
  • Your profile

  • Experience working in an environmental chemistry laboratory and handling large sets of samples that need organization and labelling.
  • Experience in handling and treating mass spectrometry data, water quality data, experimental metadata
  • Be thorough and able to work independently and disciplined.
  • Be able to communicate in English
  • Have an interest in environmental chemistry
  • Who we are

    The Department of Environmental Science has about 150 employees working in basic and problem-oriented research within environmental science , including chemical and physical processes and interactions between environment and society. The department also carries out research-based consultancy for the public sector and provides research-based advice . The academic expertise ranges from atmospheric chemistry and physics, via environmental chemistry , microbiology and biotechnology to environmental economics, environmental geography, political science and sociology. The institute is located in Roskilde, Denmark . This position will be based in the section for Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology.

    Salary and terms as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark / State (HK / Stat) for clerical staff, laboratory technicians and IT employees and the joint collective agreement concluded between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Organisations of Public Employees - Denmark - Danish State Sector (the OAO-S joint collective agreement).
