Product Manager

The role

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Product Management team in Aarhus.

The team is still being built. Today, problem framing, epic work, roadmap, customer dialogue and design coordination sit in one place. That limits how many product tracks we can run properly at the same time. You give us the capacity to go deep on several at once, so we can move from reacting to demand to driving a coherent product.

We serve four markets and four customer types with one platform. That takes discipline about what becomes configuration and what becomes a special build. Holding that line, with a rationale that also holds up in front of a customer, is a real part of the job.

We work AI-augmented. Modern AI tools take more of the writing and synthesis off your desk, which makes judgement the valuable work: which problem is real, what we build, and what we decline. We use AI to move faster, and we believe people are what make sure we build the right things.

Your work reaches hundreds of thousands of people across the Nordics: job seekers navigating labour market reforms, employment professionals adapting to new digitalisation strategies, and the institutions managing that change.

What you will work on

Candeno serves municipalities, unemployment funds, and educational institutions across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. The platform has three sides: candidates navigating the labour market, advisors guiding them through digitalisation and compliance workflows, and companies recruiting talent. One platform, many contexts.

To begin with, the role is deliberately broad. You work across customers, markets, segments and products, wherever the need is greatest. A fixed ownership area is set as the team grows. You will:

Discovery and problem framing

• Turn input from customers, Customer Success, sales and Product Support into qualified problem statements.

• Run and facilitate user interviews, workshops and validation together with design.

• Understand the problem before the solution, and get discovery done before we estimate.

Definition and delivery

• Write epics and solution descriptions others can build on, with scope, boundaries and success criteria.

• Prioritise and drive the backlog together with engineering and architecture.

• Follow deliveries all the way out: release notes, internal enablement, and follow-up on real impact.

Customer and market dialogue

• Take part in customer dialogue and workshops with Customer Success and sales, without committing to functionality on the spot.

• Assess feature requests across customers: what is one customer's edge case, and what is a shared need.

Direction and communication

• Contribute to roadmap, themes and horizons (Now, Next, Later).

• Make sure cross-cutting dependencies such as integrations, data and compliance are understood before we commit to building.

Your mandate

You prioritise within an agreed direction, you can say no to special builds, and you decide within your own track. Overall direction, cross-cutting prioritisation and roadmap commitments sit with the Head of Product Management.

Who we are looking for

You are a product manager who loves the problem. You go deep on the challenge before you reach for a solution, you write clearly enough that other people can act on it, and you are comfortable in an organisation where the frame is not finished yet.

You will need:

• Experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner on a SaaS product.

• The ability to run discovery independently: talk to users, synthesise what you hear, and turn it into problems and requirements.

• Clear and structured writing. Epics, problem statements and decision papers other people can act on.

• Experience working closely with engineers and designers in a team with real ownership.

• Danish and English at working level, written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of the employment sector, public sector customers, or other regulated domains.

• Experience with multi-tenant products, configurability and white-label.

• Experience with B2G sales and decision processes, where a decision takes 6 to 24 months and involves many stakeholders.

• A considered approach to AI in your own product work, including judgement about when the output needs verifying.

• Enough understanding of integrations and data models to ask the right questions.

• Loves the problem. Goes deep on the challenge before the solution.

• Self-driven where the frame is not finished, and helps build it.

• Honest and direct, including when the answer is no, or not yet.

• Has empathy for all three parties: the job seeker, the advisor and the customer.

• Comfortable with breadth, and with switching between segments and markets.

• Collaborates rather than hands over.

What the first six months look like

After one month

You know the platform as a user, on both the candidate and the advisor side, and you can explain what we solve and for whom. You have met product, design, engineering, Customer Success and sales, and you know who to go to when. You have listened in on customer dialogue and support cases across all three customer segments, and you have taken ownership of a first, well-defined problem.

After three months

You run discovery independently on your own tracks and deliver problem statements and epics the team can build on. You have taken at least one delivery from problem to release and followed up on the impact. You contribute credibly to prioritisation, you can turn down a special build with a rationale that holds, and you handle customer dialogue independently alongside Customer Success.

After six months

You have full ownership of one or more product areas and you are the team's go-to person on them. You contribute to roadmap and direction, not only to execution. You have moved a measurable outcome for customers or users, and you have changed something about how we work, not only about the product.

We are based in Aarhus, and this is an on-site role. You report to the Head of Product Management and work in a product trio with design and architecture throughout, close to engineering, Customer Success, sales and Product Support.

Our product philosophy follows Cagan and SVPG: outcome-oriented teams, discovery before estimation, and configurability over special builds. We work in ClickUp for epics and backlog, Figma and FigJam for design and concept work, and Freshdesk for release communication. We work in Danish and English. Swedish and Norwegian are handled together with colleagues.
