Lasernet is a well-established software company with more than 20 years of experience delivering document output management and ERP-integrated solutions to enterprise customers globally.
Following a recent strategic repositioning and rebranding, Lasernet is entering a new chapter focused on modernization, scalability, and long-term product sustainability. The company operates across Denmark and the UK and is strengthening its leadership structure to support future growth and technical transformation.
The engineering organization consists of approximately 20 professionals across development, QA, and cloud engineering. Historically, development has been maintenance-driven, with parts of the architecture dating back to early-generation Windows-based C++ solutions.
The ambition is now clear : To evolve from reactive maintenance to proactive product and platform leadership.
Responsibilities
As Head of Development, you will lead the engineering organization and take ownership of the technical evolution of Lasernet’s platform.
This is not a maintenance management role. This is a transformation mandate.
You will work in close partnership with the newly appointed VP of Products to ensure strong alignment between product ambition and technical feasibility. The relationship between Product and Technology will be built on collaboration, requiring maturity, independence, and commercial awareness.
You will :
- Take full leadership of the development organization
- Define and execute the technical roadmap
- Drive modernization of legacy architecture
- Build engineering structure, governance, and culture
- Establish predictable release processes and CI / CD maturity
- Introduce AI-assisted development practices responsibly
- Strengthen cross-site collaboration between DK and UK
The position reports directly to the VP of Products and is based in the Greater Copenhagen area with hybrid flexibility.Responsibilities :
Technology Strategy & Architecture
Define and own the long-term technology roadmapLead architectural governance and modernization initiativesManage technical debt through structured prioritizationEvaluate cloud migration and containerization strategiesEnsure scalability, security, and performance standardsEngineering Excellence
Implement structured release processes and CI / CD pipelinesStrengthen testing frameworks, documentation, and monitoringImprove predictability and quality of software releasesOversee build systems, dependency management, and performance optimizationTeam Leadership & Culture
Lead and develop a team of approx. 20 engineers across DK and UKEstablish clear development methodology and lifecycleBuild role clarity, career paths, and competency frameworksRebuild morale and ownership within the teamAddress and strengthen cross-site collaboration dynamicsStrategic Partnership
Act as senior technical counterpart to the VP of ProductsContribute to executive-level strategic decisionsBalance commercial priorities with technical sustainabilityEngage with partners and key customers when relevantProfile
We are looking for a transformation leader first — and a technologist second.
You likely bring :
10–15+ years of software engineering experienceStrong architectural background in enterprise softwareExperience modernizing legacy systemsProven leadership experience (team size 10–30+)Strong technical grounding in languages such as C++, C#, Java or similarExperience with Dynamics F&O technical architecture and ERP extension models is highly valuedHands-on experience with or architectural responsibility for X++ solutions is considered a significant advantageSolid understanding of distributed systems, security, and DevOps practicesExperience with CI / CD, release management, and structured engineering governanceExperience from SaaS, ERP add-on, or integration-heavy environmentsExperience with Kubernetes, cloud migration, AI-assisted development tools, or ERP platforms (, Dynamics F&O) is considered an advantage.
