Maersk is seeking a highly skilled Associate Data Engineer with expertise in data engineering, cloud platforms, operational excellence, and ML Ops practices. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing scalable data infrastructure to enable efficient data flows and support machine learning initiatives across the organization. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data. Implement robust data models, data lakes, and data warehouses to support analytics and machine learning use cases. Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver production‑ready data solutions. Ensure data quality, governance, and lineage tracking across all data assets. Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and alerting for data systems. Apply engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing frameworks, code reviews, and performance optimization. Work with ML engineering teams to establish ML Ops pipelines for reproducibility, deployment, monitoring, and scalability. Optimize cloud‑based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for cost, performance, and security. Contribute to internal standards, documentation, and guidelines for data engineering excellence. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong foundation in data engineering concepts such as data modeling, pipelines, and batch/streaming frameworks (Kafka, Spark, Flink). Proficiency in cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud‑native data tools (BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake). Hands‑on experience with data orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster). Strong coding skills in Python, SQL, and one additional language (Scala or Java preferred). Experience with version control, CI/CD, testing, observability, and performance optimization. Background in operational excellence methodologies and system reliability practices. Familiarity with ML Ops frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, Azure ML). Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing large‑scale data platforms for analytics and AI/ML needs. Exposure to real‑time streaming architectures. Understanding of DevOps principles in data and ML workflows. Strong problem‑solving skills with focus on scalability and reliability. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams. Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
